December 2007: La Rosa would like to congratulate Annette and Jeannette Garza for their hard work at La Rosa. These 16-year-old La Rosa volunteers were nominated for the Houston Texan’s NFL Community Quarterback Award, an award which honors individuals that have excelled in volunteering and community service. Because of their contributions to La Rosa, Annette and Jeannette were 2 of 6 finalists for the Community Quarterback Award and received VIP tickets to a Houston Texan’s Game.
July 2007: Renata Hernandez, the Program Director of La Rosa, was featured in an interview on Telemundo, where she promoted our new Men’s Support Group where they learn skills such as: communication, parenting, and anger mangement, all of which can lessen the cycle of domestic violence.
August 2007: La Rosa was mentioned in In-Town Magazine where readers were informed about La Rosa’s Back-to-School Event in which La Rosa gave over 1500 backpacks to children and 1000 bags of groceries for their families.
September 2007: The Houston Chronicle publicly announced the partnership of Crisis Intervention and La Rosa Family Service’s launch of the new Spanish-language Hotline: 713-LA1-ROSA. In addition, FOX 26 interviewed Abby Cua on their weekend feature, “Hola Houston”, on the services that La Rosa offers in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is in October.
October 2007: Theresa Gutierrez will be featured in Queonda Magazine that will publicly announce her as the new official executive director of La Rosa. |
