 | Adopt a Family Program In December of 2007, La Rosa initiated its Adopt a Family Program. With the participation of 4 elementary schools in the Houston Independent School District, La Rosa and corporate sponsors, 29 families' had a happy holiday season. Presents ranged from small presents such as stuffed animals, clothing, and remote control cars to big presents such as bikes, TV's, heaters, and even rent checks. If your school is interested in participating in this event, please contact us . | | Mother's Day Celebration Every mother should receive an award for the hard work that it takes to raise children, but La Rosa feels that a mother who has overcome domestic violence deserves a formal celebration. For this reason, La Rosa created their first Annual Mother’s Day Event in May of 2007 that included a luncheon, a Mariachi band, dancing, and presentation of certificates and gifts to 60 mothers whose families have survived and overcome the traumas of domestic violence. This May will mark our 2nd Annual Mother’s Day Event where we will have this grand celebration for another 60 mothers that were victims of domestic violence. Thanks to our Sponsors | | The Yellow Rose Luncheon La Rosa's Yellow Rose Luncheon is held in conjunction with Texas Independence day. La Rosa hosts this event in honor of those that have gained independence from domestic violence. In previous years, La Rosa held the Yellow Rose event as a luncheon, but beginning March, 2008, La Rosa will turn this event into a gala. We will have more information on this year's celebration available at a later date - please return to this site for more information. Thanks to our Sponsors | |
